Periodontal disease is an inflammation of the supporting tissues of the teeth. It is often a progressive destruction leading to changes in the supporting bone and ligament of the teeth, as well as changes in color, position and shape of the gum tissues.
A Periodontist is a dentist who has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and conditions of the supporting and surrounding tissues and the teeth or their implanted substitutes. Today, it is often possible to repair or replace damaged gum tissues and supporting bone.
After completing college and four years of dental school, he has taken two or more additional years of full time specialized training in the treatment of periodontal disease. A periodontal practice is limited to the treatment of gum diseases. Essential to this treatment is advanced knowledge of microbiology, the body’s immune response, bone physiology and healing of the gingival tissues.
We are a trusted periodontal practice and we are fully dedicated to providing you with exceptional care.
